A lot of the site's screenshots are that way, and I know some are legit. They captured a monitor so it's actually harder to fake that way. These Chinese sites are more reliable than The Inquirer from my experience. On a side note, I planned my buying of the 6800NU PCIe and they turned out to be correct about the specs. The supposed R520 release date (May) is nearing, so I wouldn't be surprised if this Chinese site got an early sample. The score isn't that unreasonable to me. ATI will need that to compete with NVIDIA's high-end SLI solutions, regardless of how many people will buy them.

Wow I just realized this article came out April 1 according to the Chinese site. I'm surprised nobody caught this until now. Thanks humey.

If you stand back you can vaguely see that it says 'NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Series GPU' on the pixelated info box, unless I'm blind. I wonder why would they make that so obvious... It could be a fake, I don't know. Even if it is a fake, it's probably not far from the truth. It's about time we start seeing extreme performance increases like with the last generation.

No matter what, it would be strange if they released a card that didn't improve much over last generation.

I think the article says that the 3DMark result is of a dual 6800U system, not of the R520.

Lol i dont know how anybody can see what the name is for the GPU. I cant read what it says after trying to clear it up in Photoshop.

But if its true. Well ATi were nearly right about it being 3x as fast as a X850!

Very impressive score if its true. Buy 1 $600 card instead of 2 for $1000... for better performance....

Now lets all touch wood and hope this comes all true :)

Looks like a dual 6800U to me, and the article probably says something like "R520 should be about this fast!!11!1"

I'd love to see some real benches though.

15K would be DAMN impressive though.

damn, how'd you do that? i need to learn photoshop
it really does look like it says 6800 series gpu though

i did it with paint shop pro, its a better program for cheaper ;)
i never use it though it was just a trial version...blur/unsharp mask and some color adjustments.

everyone has their opinion :p

photoshop seems like an overpriced piece of crap to me, especially when you can get PSP for $100. but i'd never pay for either of those programs anyway (only trial). psp seems easier to use, the resizing quality seems better to me, and finally the options are easier to find. plus one time photoshop took a crap on me and nothing would open for some reason.

psp is a lot better for touching up photos and doing manipulation. photoshop might be better at effects etc. because it probably has a larger plugin base. i find photoshop hard as f*** to use like when i want to just do something simple, besides just adjusting color. maybe i just hate photoshop's interface but i hate a lot of Adobe products. i can't imagine what it must be like to create a picture in photoshop but i guess that's what illustrator is for, right? i don't think photoshop was intended for creation, more for certain modifications or effects. on the other hand, PSP's interface is a little overwhelming to me so they both suck in my book  one gripe about photoshop is the settings for saving files...some of it doesn't make much sense. i have to use save for web to adjust jpeg settings, etc. i think it needs an overhaul...photoshop is obviously more widely-used so it's more optimized, most likely. let's just say the learning curve is a lot less steep in psp than in photoshop. i don't think i could have done this in photoshop in less than an hour. i hardly use either of these programs, i just happened to have the trial versions installed because i was trying to do gamma-correction for the sc: chaos theory sm3.0 article. here's one kick-ass photo editing program. http://pixel32.box.sk/index.php?cat=Screenshots i think it used to be free.

anyway lets get on topic again...hmm...lets see...oh yeah it's fake...never mind :Q
