Ati R250: Clocked at 350/350....and thats the LE!!!

I'm not sure what the actual clocks for the R250 will be. Keep in mind that the R200 debuted on the Radeon 8500 @ 275/275, so I'm guessing that the R250 will require faster clocks than the NV25 in order to keep up (maybe surpass?).

MUCH higer, I doubt we'll see anything that will surpass the GF4 4600 from ATI anytime soon.

This shouldn't be a surprise. ATI has always beaten NV when it comes to raw speed specs. The nvidia cards seem to work smarter though.

Keep in mind it'll be based on the RV250 core though, so we have no idea what modifications they have performed to the RV250 core to cauge relative performance boost over the R200 core.... beyond the fact that it will supposedly have better AA.
Personally, It sounds pretty appealing to me.
With the R8500 coming up just on the tails of the GF3 Ti500 with the newer beta drivers, even a 350/350 R200 should perform quite attractively and kjeep It's already much more well rounded feature set then the GF4.

From what I've heard the R8500XT will be R200/RV250 core at 300/300, and the R8800 will be 250/350 based on the RV250 core.
HardOCP is the first I've heard to claim the 350/350 will be anything other then ATi's high end model, so I'm doubting that it will be the 'LE'.

Launch dare seems to vary from during CeBit, to sometime in April depending on whose info you believe.

Not that I recall though it's possibile there was such a rumour. In any case, I certainly have never seen any evidence to support such a rumour.

the only rumour is the one you are trying to start now. Of course by the time Games use the extra 3D features that ATI has the silicon is too slow anyway...

Presuming you meant me, might I inquire which rumour your referencing?

Games always utilize the newest features long after graphics cards are avaialble that support them, I wouldnt go so fa as to say it will be too slow to be of use by then but we will likely be seeing GF5/R300's by the time we see the first games utilizing DX8 features in any significant amount, and likely GF6's before their seen in the majority of games.

I think that it'll be priced around the same as a Ti4400. It's pure speculation on my part of course but I'm going by current Radeon 8500 pricing compared to GF3 Ti products.

i remember not too long ago... it was nvidia who played the raw power game with beefed up clock speeds, and ati went the slower, yet smarter router (ie - hyper z). hopefully... ati can make something of the higher clock speeds, as nvidia was able to
