ATi Q4 Revenues Up 70% Compared to Q4 2002

Highlights of the fourth quarter include:

ATI launched two new workstation products. Both the FireGL(TM) X2-256 and FireGL(TM) T2-128 have a considerable price/performance lead in their respective segments.

ATI unveiled the latest in its award-winning ALL-IN-WONDER(TM) product line, the ALL-IN-WONDER(TM) 9600 PRO.

The first notebooks using ATI's MOBILITY(TM) RADEON(TM) 9600 VPU hit the market, stunning reviewers with their desktop-level graphics performance.

ATI announced an agreement with Microsoft® for future Xbox® related products, technologies and services. ATI now has future technology agreements with two of the three major console makers.

A major cell phone manufacturer moved into volume production of cell phones using ATI's IMAGEON(TM) graphics processor.

ATI started shipping its RADEON(TM) 9100 IGP at the end of the quarter to some of the world's largest motherboard manufacturers.

Chalk one up for efficiency. ATI's lead IMO is not just about the performance lead. Systems integrators and laptop manufacterers love how much heat their R200 and R300 based chips kick out compared to the competition, while offering performance usually equal or better. Consoles are almost as cramped as laptops, and after the Xbox, buyers aren't going to accept graphics so far behind pc games anymore.
 
Also, they're turning a profit finally, last few quarters (IIRC) have been losses, but this time they're up to +$ 🙂
