I just got my Radeon 8500 64mb card the other day. I installed it without a hitch and everything. Got the newest drives and I went to play Jedi Outcaste. Well when the game started up for the first time like the top quarter of the screen was flickering an image that was like an replica of what was on the full screen. I went into the options and switch the screen resolution from 640*480 to 1024*764 and it was fine. This also happend when I first started up the computer with the card. Switch the resolution and it worked fine. The weird thing is that it does this in every game I have. And some of them wont fix with a resolution change. Anybody have any ideas of what's goin on? It didn't do any of this with my old card which was a 3d prophet 4500.

Anyway here's what my system has incase you need it
Win 98 FE
Duron 900
128 Mb of RAM
30 gig hard drive
FIC AZ11-EA mother board
Ati Radeon 8500 64 mb
that's about all the important stuff that I can think of on here

Well anybody have any ideas of what could be up?

ati cards are picky try uninstalling the drivers back to a standard agp video adapter then reload the software and it should fix your problem also you might look in redgedit and make sure(before reverting it back to standard agp video adapter) to delete all references of the 3d prophet 4500 drivers but i'd try the other one first then if still having trouble do redgedit revert reinstall
if all else fails back up format reinstall 98 fe again only a last resort but will delete any old remnant drivers from the 4500

hope this helps
