ATI overdrive keeps disappering

This has happened with the 4.9 CCC & The 4.10 Control panel version. The overdrive was there yesterday & now it's gone. Has anyone had this happen? Is there a way to get it back without doing a reinstall of the driver?
 
I think it's a conflict because the 9600XT is not supposed to have Overdrive, AFAIK.

When the Overdrive is present, what part of it works? Does overdrive itself or temperature monitoring function?

On my X800 Pro the Overdrive tab is always there and always works; I bet it's a problem with cards not designed for OD.
 
When it was there it reported the temp & core speed. When I turn it on the speed mark goes up. I normally leave it off unless I want to play a game.

Built by ati 9600xts are supposed to have overdrive, but not necessarily the ones that come from other companies.
 
Did you have a game crash on you while overdrive was enabled? I saw the tab dissapear once after my 9800xt crashed in game.
 
I did play the HL1 demo yesterday & had it screw up. But I can't remember if I still had over on or not. I had been messing with the doom 3 demo before that, no probs beside crappy fps.
