both will stick around. I've been a fanboi of ATI for a while, but if nV releases an awesome card deal, I could switch.
One company surviving would result in an ugly stagnation of the tech (regardless of which compnay won)

isnt there a company called s3 thats trying to enter the gfx card market?

S3 have released a few video cards which are for the lower price sector of the market. I had the chance to try out a S3 Deltachrome S8 and was surprised by it's better than expected DX9 performance. It's score of 800 with 3dmark 2005 was only 200 points lower than the Geforce 5900 XT I was using at the time and much better than the Geforce FX video cards in it's price range. :)

So far S3 have the deltachrome, gammachrome, unichrome and omnichrome.
interesting. :) I wonder would they take a chance on a mid-range card...
