Are there any programs out there (including games) that only work with a certain video card company?

I'm thinking about switching from nvidia to ati.

No, some work better on one brand's latest chips (HL2 on ATI, Doom3 on nV) but no game publisher wants to lose access to a huge chunk of potential buyers by creating games "locked" to one brand.

Even the co-marketed games like Tomb Raider: AOD ("best on nV") don't mean much, in fact Tomb Raider runs best on an ATI 9800 Pro or XT.

Card-specific games haven't existed since Direct3D and OpenGL replaced voodoo's glide as the standard platforms for PC games.

LOL, ok there are 5 obscure games paid for by the companies and bundled with their cards that won't run on other brands.

And ATI / nV hardware control utilities won't run very well on the other brand, just like the chipset drivers.

Its a shader development tool suite, and along with Cg toolkit, is graphic card independant. Requires a dx9 card.
