Just curious, I read the XBox's GPU is a tweaked GF3 Ti200...does anyone know what the Gamecube's ATI GPU is equivalent to?
BTW, Gamecube rocks!
its the NV2A processor, kinda like the NV25 in the GF3 line only with an extra vertex shader. Gamecube's GPU is created by ArtX and is unique, it has no PC equivalent.
Ah, I see. I just saw the 'powered by ATI' sticker on my Gamecube and figured it was some sort of Radeon
Nope. ArtX was acquired by ATI, hence the sticker. The architecture is different from most PC processors. It has a smaller amount of very high speed memory, and ability to produce up to 8 effects in a pass. Big downside is the lack of hardware T&L/pixel shaders.
