ATI: OEM vs Retail, any performance difference?

To some this might seem like a stupid question but I've been out of the loop with ATI for a while now. I know that all their OEM cards used to have a slower default clock speed than the same card being sold in a retail box (IE, Best Buy or Circuit City). Does this still hold true? I've pretty much decided that I want my next video card to be a 9500 Pro and I need to figure out which one to order.

as far as i know there is no difference between the OEM and retail version uinless you get the dell 9700 that they did something to to make it run on lower PSU or something like that im not sure though, adn as far as i know you can jsut buy those by themselves anyway

there shouldn'r be any differences between oem and retail. except for ati's fancy box packages. you might miss out on some software, cables, dvi-crt adaptor etc with oem.

Right, I realize there shouldn't be any differences but in the past there were clear performance differences in retail and OEM ATI cards. Does anyone know for sure that an OEM 9500 pro is clocked at the exact same speed as a retail card?

yes they are the same card, they are clocked the smae etc, the difference might be a fan or labeling but all the 9500pro's are clocked the same

I always knew ATI's OEM vs Retail to be different.
that's why the prices are so much different.

I remember in the ATI Rage Fury days, mine was OEM and it came as like 90MHz or something. while the full blown retail card had 100 (or something similar)
i have no idea if that's still true.
the only cards by ATI that I use normally are ATI XPert2000 cards for work machines. they aren't worth looking into for $50 /card Canadian. :p
