hi all

wonderng when or if ATI/NVIDIA will move to 45nm processors.
ive been waiting to replace my faithfull 7900 gtx.
The power/heat/noise of these newer cards dissapoints me.
always been kind of a silent pc enthusiast.

i do like the throttle down features of the nvidia 260/280.

Next node is 40nm. TSMC produces GPUs on different node than CPUs. And the chips should be out late this year :D

Well, more precisely ATI midrange cards go to 40nm next month. However, high end parts won't see 40nm until the end of the year.

There's no point for them to go to 45nm if TSMC will be manufacturing at 40nm. I think :D

Yes, you would think so, but last time ati went stright to 55nm and nvidia made a stop at 65nm. They've only been using 55nm for about 9 mos now, while amd has been there since nov 07.
