ATi multimedia centre question

Hi,
i read in a post about the quality of dvd playback on the MMC8.5. on the ati website it says that owners of 9500 and above cards have a free upgrade to it so i duly went ahead.
During the install though it says "dvd player not detected" [something like that] and installs cd player, sound player etc but not a dvd player.
there is also a separate ati dvd player utility so i tried to install that, which asks for the original ati install cd. Howvever for whatever reason when i use the cd provided by sapphire it says it is not a valid install cd!

I have a Sapphire radeon 9500pro and my machine does have a drvdrom drive, so:
#1 why does it say i dont have a dvd player on MMC install?
#2 why wont the dvdplayer install when i use the sapphire-provded ati cd? the cd works fine when installing off it originally and subsequently and browsing it itdoes have an ATi cd thingy on it.
#3 what are any fixes/solutions to the above? i have emailed sapphire with no responce and dont really want to have to buy a $10 cd just to be able to install this utility!

#2 why wont the dvdplayer install when i use the sapphire-provded ati cd?
I thought Sapphire supplied Cyberlink PowerDVD 4.0 with their products, I believe the 8.5 free DVD upgrade is for BBA cards not partner cards. Does your CD have MMC 8.1 on it?

yes it does. that installed fine, and the mmc8.5 sort-of installed okay but for the dvd problem
yes i did get powerdvd which i find okay...but heard good things about the ati player and wanted to try it
