The ATI sight lists two separate drivess, the Catylyst, and the Hydravision. I really do not use dual monitors, so should I just upodate with the Catylyst?

My drivers are dated mid 2004 - so I believe it is time to upgrade.

You can't use either - those drivers are only for notebooks that support ATI's drivers. You're supposed to go through your mfr (HP, IBM, Dell, etc).

However you can use modded drivers. http://www.omegadrivers.net are the more popular ATI modded ones and work with mobile GPU's. VXG Extreme (google 'em) are also good drivers, but I've never used their mobile or their ATI drivers.

I have the Cat 5.12s on my Mobility x300 and they work like a charm. Just follow the instructions here: Rage3D

Or you can use the Omega's linked above.

I have been trying to increase the framerate of a MMORPG I use. Eveyone talked about using catylyst - so I did download the modile catylyst drivers from ATI and tried them, installed OK, but could not open the control pansl - I woul dget an error.

Now - I already read that Microsoft .NET Framework was causing problems with the game, and that one needed to upgrade to 2.0, and that ATI drovers really like the .net framework thing. So - after upgrading to 2.0 - I can use the control panel now it all seems to be working fine.

.net is required for catalyst control center to run, so if you didn't have it then obviously it wouldn't work.
