ATI Mobility 7500

Is the ATI Mobility 7500 with a 1.5ghz pentium M processor on a thinkpad t42 gonna be able to play newer games alright?

I have a two year old Compaq 2800T with a 1.6Ghz and the 7500 chip. It will run RTCW, but I don't think I would go beyond that. Many new games (Far Cry) require at least an ATi 8500. Can the video card in a laptop be upgraded? I am sure that it is dependent on the model, but is it possible in any models? If so I may see if I can upgrade to a newer chipset.

Look, I have a ThinkPad R50. Pentium M CPU @ 1,5 and 1MB L2 with the mobility 7500 32 MB and 512MB-Ram.
I can run any game I want (even UT2004 @ 800X600 full detail) with a FPS 30-40.
Far Cry you will be able to play only with a DirectX 9 compilant card 'cuz it uses a full DX9 code - so having a 8500 will not help for that game, if you want to play it you must at least have a Radeon Mobility 9600.
