does this thing really have to use the antenna to pick up HD feeds? i see no method of picking them up through my normal cable subscription
 
Yes, it does. There claim to be a few hundred free HDTV channels that you can pick up with the antenna, but I'm not sure what these channels are like (HBO? NBC? Golf Channel? etc).
 
good thing u posted....i was thinking about getting one. Anyone know if future revisions (hopefully near future) are going to be able to use cable/satellite?
