How do you know if its better when you don't even know the specs of the ATI card? The previews I've seen show PVR timeshifting and PIP with the analog tuner, I know my MyHD doesn't support either of those features. If it offers integration with MMC, and uses the VPU for acceleration and a $100 premium over the regular AIW, it could be decent.

Well thats half the battle, we dont know them yet there are solutions out there now so why wait?

Not to mention I hate the look of teh ATI AIW HDTV interface, its way too clunky.

Why wait? Maybe to see what it offers before condeming it outright...but thats me. The Interface I've seen looks like the other MMC apps, and I wish they would offer better skins, but its not like the MyHD interface is very elegant, I know I've used it. It will be interesting to see the EPG integration, and the full feature set. I can see plenty of reasons to wait before declaring it crap.

thats the reason I like the access dtv, all the features are in place now.... But its very hard to find.

Actually as far as interfaces go I like the fusion II (which I have) but its very simple but they did it right with how it works.

Also you dont know what you will get with ATI, all the other cards have been on the market a while and have gone through the driver maturity phase where ATI will prob have some problems for a while.....

I do like my MyHD card, I've been using it for well over a year now. In fact, I'm playing around with AnyDVD, and the DVD output scaled to 1080i looks great. The HD output is great also, very low CPU use, capture is also very good with the transport streams. The analog SD capture is pure crap though, completely worthless.

The tools to work with the transport streams are definately problematic though. I'd like a better solution to encode the transport streams to WMV HD, and to burn to DVD. Until a better storage medium comes around, I just don't have the space to keep the original transport files. The more players that get into the mix, the better, and perhaps more pressure to relax the broadcast flag issues going forward.

Looks nice. I'll give this thing a serious look when it comes out. I like the little review they give about analog and hdtv technology in the article.

From the article it sounds like hdtv is free over the air but you have to pay for hdtv cable signals. Is that correct?
