I have not taken apart my pair of ATI HD 4850s and I don't really care to UNLESS, yes unless, the TIM is really bad. Does anyone know what TIM they use and if they saw a very significant change in temperatures(GOOD CHANGE) from switching to another TIM? What did you use? I do not want to buy a third party heat sink as the coolers on my ATI HD 4850s might run hotter but they work just fine and are quiet.

Thanks.

It's fairly standard stuff, thermal paste on the GPU and rubbery thermal pads for the memory and pwm's. No significant temp change using AS5. Not worth the hassle if replacing stock cooler.

Raise stock fan speeds using the CCC profile fix.
There's a bios mod as well, but the software fix is the safe way to go.
