I am considering getting a 24" iMac for my girlfriend, and the base model will come with HD 2600 PRO. Now, all she does is typical computer usage with videos, photo editing, web browsing, etc. She does not play any games. Is HD 2600 PRO powerful enough to smoothly render all the Mac OS animation on a 1920x1200 24" screen, or is it not powerful enough for everyday use?

Also, anyone who uses a Mac, what has your experience been with this video card?

Macs don't tend to use that much video card power. I think their video rendering and graphic are a lot more CPU based. Look at the Mac Pro, it only comes with a single 8800GT last I checked,

I have a 24" imac with that card.

Its absolutely fine for web browsing, looking at photos, and watching my stories:)

I even booted it into windows using boot camp for COD 2 awhile back and it sorta did OK with that.
