ATI GPU's

What is the difference between ATI's Radeon and All-in-Wonder lines? Which is better?

Edit: damn, wrong forum. do any of you know the answer though?

if you have the space it's usually better to get a seperate tuner card. the cost difference isn't much and you can upgrade your gpu and tuner seperately.

Great, thanks a lot guys. So performance is identical (in games and such)?

as long as the two cards have the same cores & ram and are clocked the same - yes, the performance is identical

only difference is that the AIW have a Tuner in them. the GPU is identical, but usually clocked lower. It's best to get a seperate tnuer and gpu. even ATI has stopped making the AIW cards.

Yeah. AIW are usually used in SSF

If you could get a tuner separately

SSF?

Edit: since they are the same GPU, couldn't I just raise the clock to the Radeon speed with no ill effects?

Since we're talking about the AIW cards, does anyone know if these are compatable with Windows MCE? I have a WinTV card but it is not.

maybe, but keep in mind the x1900xt and xtx have a much more powerful cooler on them. they might also have different ram chips.

SSF if small form factor. usually very small shoe-box sized PCs that are lacking on slots. that the aiw takes only one slot for two functions is a life saver for SFFs who need to use the other slot to do something else.

it used to be that the AIWs were slower than their non equivelents, not so much anymore. they've improved them quite a bit from back in the day.
