ATI follows Nvidia again Quad Fire coming soon

so now high end is even higher for both sides.
$1800 + for high end is crazy.

I saw this a few days ago. Looks likes it Asus' doing, and has nothing to do with ATi. Just as Asus did a dual GT on one card, looks like they are doing the same for an ATi card.

lol yeah. I do hope they find another way to do X-fire with out the dongle... For 2x cards it not HORRIBLE but with 4 I think it would be down right ugly.

They also have male to male and female to female as well. I hate this idea that you now need 4 video cards to have super high end system.

I dont need 4 gpu's for anything, but I would definitely be interested in a dual core card like one of those, if it works without any incompatibility issues. 1 card with 2 r580 gpus >>>>>>>>>> 2 r580 cards.

unless you consider "super-high end" to have 3 displays.

no normal single display is gonna benefit much from Quad-SLi . . . i also doubt there is any [dual core otherwise] CPU that won't be severely bottlenecked by it.

Plus - worst of all for the high end gamer - "games" are still coded for the Radeon 8500/GFTi4200.

I keep reading stuff like this... If this is true, why is it that FEAR pulls 34 FPS @ 1280x960 4xAA/8xAF on a Geforce 7800GTX?

Does Fear even support 2560? For that matter, just how many games support 2560 Widescreen?
