ATI E-Home Wonder?

Anybody got one of these yet?

Official link is here.

The website is remarkably vague. Seems cheap considering it has hardware MPEG-2 encoding.

I believe this is their new capture card for HTPCs. The only place I can find selling it has it for $100, which sounds about right for a hardware MPEG-2 encoder card. It's really designed for OEMs to build into HTPC systems, not for end users to buy at retail.

Canadian dealer price is around $100, so it be had in the US for less than $100.

I have been wanting to build a decent HTPC with PVR capability and wanted to know if this thing works as advertised.

You're right; the place I found was Canadian. Can't they be considerate enough to list it as $C or something? 😛

This is an extremely new product that's *just* hitting the market, so you'll probably have to wait a bit for any sort of reviews.

I think I'll take the chance on one. If it works as advertised in Windows, great... if it can be supported on Linux, even better. I've wasted $100 on more senseless things.
