ATI DVD Software

Am I correct in thining that all Radeons have hardware DVD decoding?
If so, where can I get a DVD software program that supports this? I can't find it on ATI's site.

Most DVD players will support it. One is included with the "All-In-Wonder" line of cards, but not the regular ones. You can't get (legal) free DVD players, because you have to pay a licensing fee to the DVD Consortium to create/sell a decoder.

I thought any kind of DVD player that I paid for would only do software decoding. You are saying they will do hardware also?

Can anyone recommend a good one?

There are two kinds of DVD players:

A) ones that you pay for.
B) ones that are pirated.

Most of the professionally produced ones will do both hardware and software decoding. I use PowerDVD, personally, because I got it cheap. 🙂
