Ok I bought a OEM Radeon 8500 and was wondering how do I take advantage of the DVD decoder on it? Wouldnt I need to use ATI's DVD player or not? Well my main question is, is the OEM came with nothing and the ATI DVD upgrade download requires a ID number off the older version on a CD.

Would it be illegal for someone to PM me this number? If so don't bother but since I did buy a ATI card I think I should have the right to use their software to watch DVD's? Or should I just use WinDVD and if so how do I know if its using the ATI decodeing?

Yes since the CD contains propriatary MPEG2 codecs and even if someone sends you the number it still need to look at the cd.

Even if you bought an OEM you should still get a CD with it.
