ATI DVD 5.0 has been released!

Finally, maybe my DVD won't look green....

Win XP, Radeon 8500, DVD 4.1 = Green screen, with the occational flash of movie.

PowerDVD 3.5 works wonders though, go figure. But sigh, won't be able to play with it till Wednesday.

Hmmm, I'm at work right now but it looks like its just for WinXP.

I'm hoping it fixes some bugs over the last ATI DVD player. With the last player, it had trouble playing "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".

What did it fix ? I did not have any problems with ATI DVD 5.0 but then i did not use it much. I only use Power DVD 4.0 with DTS now.

I've had it for a while working with MMC 7.5. Why not just download the entire MMC 7.5? If you need it, let me know. It was released on the 8500DV CD but is not available for public download just yet.

Yeah, I just downloaded MMC 7.5 for the 8500 a week ago (not available on ATI's site) and have been using that. It even works with my TV Wonder!

It seems like it takes ATI forever to release new MMC's. I mean WinXP was released about 2 months ago, and betas have been floating around for well over a half year. And it has taken them until now to have a WinXP compatible DVD player for download.

hm well how does it compare to Powerdvd 4.0? thinking bout picking up a radeon for a new box (8500, non DV) ..

Yeah I got MMC 7.5 and the DVD is included which I discovered after, works fine, except for some sound hiccups with digital audio.
I'm using it on my Radeon AIW, Win98se machine.
I've tried so many drivers I can't remember the ones I'm on currently just that they're older ones (7153?).

With the last version I couldn't play DVDs - it told me I didn't have a sound device installed. 5.0 works just fine. This is under Win2k, so this isn't just for XP...

<< Requirements
An ATI installation CD containing a previous version of the ATI DVD Player
Windows XP
DirectX 8.1 or higher
(DirectX 8.1 is included with Windows XP)
>>

ATI just added the stipulation - for XP.
