The latest Omega drivers I can find are 6.3. I have 6.14.10 and so on. Can I or should I get the latest Omega drivers and install the Chuck Patch? Would I see gains or not?

Thanks, but I knew that. My question was if it would be better to use the 6.3 Omega drivers w/the chuck patch or the regular 6.4 w/chuck patch. Even the guy who makes the drivers said that he was playing too much Oblivion so I suspect that is what he's doing. I'm wondering if anyone has done this or if the 6.3 Omega drivers are better than the 6.4.

Jesus, no one has anything to comment on as far as comparing the new ATI drivers to the old?

Is their anyone who can tell me if the 6.3's are better than the 6.4's as far as stability, efficiency, frames in games, etc. What about the 6.3 Omega drivers? If 6.4 is better than 6.3 then how does the 6.4 measure to the 6.3 Omega ones?

I'd go with original ATI 6.3 with chuck patch.

OR just 6.4

Oblivion AA+HDR has worn out for me... crap performance outdoors exacerbated.
I use 6.4

Really? I can't go without HDR and AAA having played with it so far. Seeing as how (1. No one has tried this yet. or 2. No one knows anyone who has tried it) there are very few who are posting about this, I will probably give it a go.

I tried out the 6.3 Omega drivers w/ the chuck patch. Can't say I loved it. The drivers did seem to give some performance boosts in some of my games, but I think it might have been because I never could specify HQAF. All I could do was turn on regular 16 AF. (I'm sure there is some kind of way but I didn't feel like messing around to try to find it.) Also, after a while I couldn't even access the ATI control panel in order to do anything.

I've changed back to 6.4 w/ chuck patch now and am kind of glad now that I have an actual CCC that I can use. I would like to learn more of the specifics over ATI tools though, I've heard it is a little better than the CCC.

ATI tool -- I use it with CCC. I make the vcore of my x1900xt(x) 1.35 -- slighly cooler than the default. Also lets you specify the fan speed. Just make sure to disable the 2 ATI services that were installed.

My comment is ATI became a pain in the butt and I gave up on them.
Moved to nvidia right around the time they forced us to use the CCC. I think that was the 5.11 or 5.12 drivers.

Now I download just the display driver so I can use the ATI card with my office machine.
My gaming rig has a GeForce 7800GT and I've had fewer problems overall.

Pfft. What you have 256 MB ram? It doesn't bother me one bit -- however it is a little slow to start (CCC).
