Dont worry, it says 9600 series for me as well. Dont sweat it. as long as your clocks are 400/600, which you said they are, you are fine. The best drivers that i know of are the 3.10 drivers, but i have been away from my computer and wont get back to it till the 1st of january, in which the omega 3.10s have come out. You should try the 3.10s and the omega 3.10s. They are both good as far as i know.

Edit: Vsysnc limits your video card's maximum framerate to the refresh rate of your moniter. I usually have this enables all the time as it improves image quality by stopping the tearing effect that happens if your framerate goes above the moniter refresh rate.
Truform is a technology developed by ati, that adds polygons to some things if the game supports it, to make objects appear more round. For example, a sphere, with truform enabled, a sphere would look more perfect and pure with truform on. But this is only if the program supports it.
For the 9600 pro, I have been running 2X Anti Aliasing, and 16X Performance anisotropic filtering. I run at 1280X1024(my moniter's max) for resolution. I get great framerates in all my games. Vice City, Age of mythology, C&C Generals, UT2K3, and C&C Renegade. Of these games, i get killer frames at max details and 1280X1024 with 2XAA/16XAF. The games look killer as well.
