ATI drivers for a Dell 9700TX??

I have a Dell 4550 with a Dell/ATI 9700 TX (a downclocked 9700 non-pro). So far, I have stuck to using the Dell provided drivers from the Dell site. But I want to move the card into another machine. Can a Dell 9700TX work using non-Dell but ATI routine drivers...or must I use the Dell provided drivers?

Yeah like every other graphics card manufacturer, you can use either their drivers of the bare chip manufacturers drivers....often the latter are more up to date and slimline, though on occasion cause a loss of features.

Will very likely be the same with the Dell card....

Hey I have the same card in my work PC right here...lord knows why I need a Radeon 9700....even a scaled down one!
