So I've been searching the net, trying to find a starting point as to which driver works best with my x850xt pe. I'm trying to negate loading and unloading a butt-load of drivers. If anyone is currently running my card, or was recently, could you please hook me up with what driver version(standard or 3rd party) and any additional toos that you may have used(ccc, ati tray)? Thanks in advance.

Forgot to list my specs:
Am2NF3-VSTA mobo (xp pro 32)
amd 6000
4gb(2x2) G.Skill 1066
74gb Raptor
80gb IDE
Corsair 450vx

The latest driver is the best. ati.amd.com for you it will be the Catalyst 9.3 as support for legacy products was dropped from future builds recently.

No, it isn't. Pretty much everything older than the HD2000 series has been moved to a legacy support structure, and 9.3's the last driver that supports cards like the X850. You don't want to get 9.4 or newer.

(I linked to that just so you could see the statement about legacy drivers; the download link there is for XP 32 bit so make sure you get the driver for your OS)

See my post- I edited before you posted. That is the case but if he searched X850 within driver search it would not pull up the 9.4's anyway, it would take him to a 9.3 download page.

Thanks guys. Does anyone know whether ccc still has issues with legacy drivers? Should I use tray tools instead?

If you download the "full software suite" when you download the legacy driver, it'll come with the CCC for that driver, so you shouldn't have any compatibility issues.
