Howdy,

We have PCs at work with ATI cards in them. The drivers built into our image are a year and a half old or so so we update them manually.

Problem we are having is in the old drivers (May 2005) on the Advanced screen within Display Properties/Settings, there are a ton of extra tabs for the various features within the drivers such as a Rotation tab, a Color tab, an OpenGL tab, etc.

However on the new drivers, those have all been replaced with a single tab called Catalyst Control Center that then launches a standalone program for changing all the video settings.

While this works, it's extra steps and more confusing for the users. Does anyone know if there's a way we can use the new drivers but have it put those tabs back for easier access? Specifically we just care about the Rotation tab because lots of people here have monitors that flip sideways.

Thanks.

You can use the Omega drivers for ATi cards rather than the ATi ones. I'm pretty sure the Omegas still use the 3D Control Panel you are talking about. CCC is pretty annoying; I hated it with my old X600, so I wiped the normal ATi drivers and got the Omegas with ATi Tray Tools (has all the good stuff you are talking about) and the 3D Control Panel instead.

Just make catalyst control panel sit in the tray on start up, look for this in the options in drivers. Then your users will be able to do it all right from the tray without having to go to the driver.
