Ok. So I finally got my new cards in the mail. They both POST, though they are acting very weird. I went into my catalyst control center to make sure they are running fine (everest did not detect their temps) and they were both at 25 C. So I activated manual control and changed the fans to 100% to check if they were working fine (which worked). Then one of the fans just stopped. It shows 0C temp, 000MHz GPU, 000MHz Memory, AND the other card shows 157MHz GPU, 300MHz memory. No matter what I change the setting to it does not affect this :( also my previous card was a HD4850x2.

CPU: Phenom II 955BE
PSU: 750W
OS: Server 2008

Update: The second card randomly turns back on then off. Everest shows the memory clock as 300Mhz for both...

Call me silly and Im taking a stab in the dark with this, but is it possible that ATi Cat is shutting down the one card, and de clocking the other while operating in 2d mode? What happens when you play a 3d game? Does the other cards fan turn back on? You 2d clocks will be much lower then your 3d clocks to save on power consumption.

Ive heard of a few other people having similar issues with some versions of CCC(not sure which). What version are you using?

Well I figured out that was it, THOUGH I have much larger problems now... Last night I was playing EQ2 (with only 1 card enabled because with crossfire i get lower FPS) and I got a grey screen out of no where. My cards run cool..they dont get above 48C load especially if I crank the fan up (not to mention I also have a problem that CCC capped how high I can overclock my card [900] while other people have the ability to clock them up to 1200mhz). I also had this happen to me again today - though I was not ingame and all I did was start up the EQ2 launcher then boom I got a black screen ( what was odd my cards acted like they were POSTing [fans at 100% ect])and the last screen was grey, but what I have noticed every time it goes down I only have 1 card running. O yah this might be off topic but no matter what I do I cant get my CPU past 3.8Ghz and it isnt even near most peoples load temps under a load...>_> I know thats a wild tangent but I felt like mentioning it in this wall of text. lol paragraphs.
