ATI control panel

You should definitely install it because without the control panel you're at the mercy of Windows and the programs to control your card.
 
Thank's. The reason I asked is because when I try to go into the advanced option it takes about 2 minutes to open. Any idea why?

you running an anti-virus program? That could be hanging up the program.

Just a thought.


 
Its a known-bug with Cat 3.1. I finally found a fix that worked from Rage3D. From the windows start menu, click on run and type:

atiprbxx.exe /g

It'll bring up the smartgart .dll, from there hit "basic agp settings" and it'll backdoor you into your advanced property tab. It might have taken 2 minutes, but I always killed it before it got there, as no .dll should take 2 minutes to open unless something is wrong. Cat 3.2 should be out soon, so hopefully they fix this issue.

Odd, I've never had this issue with any of ATi's drivers. Did you have another video card or other drivers in your system before?
