ATi Component Cable Troubles! :(

So I have a x700 with the component cables out the back...i hook it up to my HDTV and bam it should work fine right (latest drivers/catalyst installed). Nope instead its a blurry picture of what its suppose to display, i tweak around with resoution and refresh rates on the software for the TV and nothing, the best picture i got was still BLURRY, it was like the picture it is suppose to displayX5 and blurred together. So i went and saw if it was my TV or vid card, used the Composite video and bam works FINE, hooked up a different dvd player to the TV using component cables, bam TV is fine. So i spent like a combination of 3 hrs and my friend countless hours tweaking settings and downloading drivers/reinstalling, uninstalling drivers etc.

Anyone know what the problem could be?
