ATI Color adjustment "Wizard"

Hi guys,

I was wondering, does ATI have a color adjustment mechanism similar to Nvidia's "Display Optimization Wizard"? After running this optimization on my Nvidia machines the colors look much more full and rich, and my Ati displays seem washed out in comparison. Is there any way to run this same sort of thing for Ati? I've tried manually adjusting the colors, but it never seems to come out quite right the way the Nvidia Display wizard gets things.

Thanks!

Basically, any "Display adjustment wizard" is not going to do anything in terms of actually getting your monitor to display "proper" colors. For that, you need a hardware color management system. NVidia has a "digital vibrance" thing, which basically increases the saturation of the colors on your screen. It's a really stupid thing to do, however, because while it makes dull colors look "brighter," colors that are actually bright (at the limits of saturation) will be "clipped," which can make some photos look really bad. Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear, but in reality, if you want to see "good" colors, stay away from extreme adjustments, whether by wizard or by video card driver controls. I'm a digital imaging type, though, so prepare to see some colorically challenged folks flame me for dissing their feel-good tweaks. 😉

That coming from a guy running a "500:1" contrast ratio monitor, one known for its poor color calibration is amusing 🙂

ATi doensn't have anything comparable to Digital Vibrance. It is a shame as on decent displays the bump in color intensity is quite nice for viewing movies and games.
