Hello... I've been having some driver issues as of late. I have a Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB (Atlantis 9800Pro), and for some reason when I try to use the latest drivers (Catalyst 3.7) Windows XP won't boot. The splash screen will show, but following the monitor will seem to enter power saving mode. The latest catalyst drivers that don't do this to my machine are 3.4. I've emailed ATI about this, but they of course were no help.

Here's what I'm running:
Windows XP Professional fresh installation, fully updated from windowsupdate
Abit VP6 motherboard
512MB PC133 Crucial RAM
SB Live! X-gamer

I've done all the ATI Windows XP FAQ has suggested, but still no dice. Can anyone here give any insight on what I might do to rectify this? I'm pretty close to chucking the tower out the window.

The new Catalyst drivers are due today, maybe try drivercleaner (read the readme) and reinstall, or try the new drivers when the are available later today.

Capital idea.... thanks. Had no idea new Catalysts would be out soon. I'll try that when I get home.

Do what I`m going to do ,when the CATs 3.8 arrive I`ll remove my old ATi drivers, run Driver Cleaner in safe mode then reboot & install the new 3.8s at desktop.

If this is going to be the first time you`ve run Driver Cleaner then it`s recomended you also run the cab cleaner(in tools menu of Driver Cleaner) before you run Driver cleaner also in safe mode.
