ATI Catalyst 6.1 Drivers Released!

anything without CCC but with the traditional menu's?

Nope you have to use CCC or do with out. I personally use ATI Tray tools in place of CCC.

This release offers no optimizations for gaming.

It only fixes a number of bugs in specific games, and a few things related to CCC.

I'll stay with 5.13 until 6.2 arrives.

Has anyone tried these yet? How are they performing compared to 5.13? I'm about to reformat and I'm trying to decide which version to install when I get things back up.

Anyone here wanna try these out with a X1800 card. I will send a sweet in the epost for ya. Please compare to 5.13's

Will this fix the Half Life 2 bug that has ruined my CSS gaming since I got my GTO2????? please tell me it does.

what was happening? if it was the glossy textures Valve fixed that in the last patch to CSS.

Man ... why do people still go with the CCC.

Just get ATi Tray Tools, and download the display driver only.

Works with .Net 2.0!! 🙂

Awesome, that is worth it alone in my book.

So does the .Net 2.0 work with the driver AND the CCC?😕

ATI still links to the .net 1.1 page. Are you guys sure you don't have .net 1.1 and net 2.0 installed? I've done that before too and thought they worked with 2.0, but when I uninstalled 1.1, the CCC died.

I always use the base ATi driver with ATi Tray Tools.

You can only do that because you have a last gen card. You miss out on features with the R5xx cards if you don't use the CCC. I wish that wasn't the case becasue I'd love to get rid of that crufty CCC and .net 1.1. I think that will be one of the motivating factors for my impending 7900GT purchase, but I'll certainly wait for benchmarks.
