ATi Catalyst 5.5 control center help

Hey guys new poster here...didn't really know where else to turn since this is kinda the only pc info news/forums site i visit...

Anyway..I just upgraded my vid card to a sapphire 9800 pro (from a 9500), and I installed the latest catalyst drivers (5.5), and so far everything seems to work except for the Control Center. I've tried to open up using the desktop shortcut, right click > control center menu, through the start menu, and even though the install directory, but whatever I do to try to open it up, it just doesn't. I can see it in the Processes as CLI.exe, but I don't see any window pop up or anything.

I've tried reinstalling a couple times now with no luck...

If anybody else has had this problem or just knows of a way to get it to show up so I can change the settings please help me out!

Hi shiro, welcome to the forums! 🙂

I had this problem also. Definitely try aGreenAgent's suggestion - mine works now but for the life of me I have no idea why or how. It just sort of fixed itself. I believe it was the result of installing new drivers. Damn it's been a while since I did that. I'm off to check for new ones. 😉

Uninstall just the control center? Or the completely package (display drivers, wdm integrated stuff, and control center)?

I've uninstalled the control center and reinstalled just that portion but maybe I should try uninstalling the complete package and reinstalling.

Before I took out my 9500 I also uninstalled the complete 5.5 catalyst package that I had installed for it, and when I put in the 9800 pro, windows installed it's own stuff. Then after that I installed the entire 5.5 catalyst pack. Could it be possible that windows own installation thing may have messed up ati's own install process? I don't really think that's what's causing the problems though, but I just thought I should mention that.

Yeah, uninstall everything. To be thorough, try running driverlceaner to make sure it's all gone. restart, let windows install its crap, then install the whole ATI suite again.

hey guys! sorry for the late reply...
i finally got around to tryin the suggestions and I uninstalled everything, ran Driver Cleaner, and now everything's workin great.
Thanks!
