New Features
This section provides information on new features introduced in the Catalyst? 5.10 software suite. New features include:

CrossFire? Support
Default Screen Rotation Keystrokes

CrossFire? Support
The Catalyst? software suite 5.10 introduces support for ATI CrossFire?. ATI CrossFire? allows for multiple Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) to be placed within a single PC, providing superior gaming performance.

Default Screen Rotation Keystrokes
The Catalyst? software suite 5.10 introduces default screen rotation keystrokes. The following default hotkeys will be assigned for rotating the display:

CTRL-ALT-Up Arrow
0 degrees rotation (Normal landscape mode)

CTRL-ALT-Left Arrow
Rotate 90 degrees left (Portrait mode)

CTRL-ALT-Right Arrow
Rotate 90 degrees right

CTRL-ALT-Down Arrow
Rotate 180 degrees

Display Control Panel Extension Enhancements for Windows XP MCE
The Catalyst? software suite 5.10 introduces enhancements for the display control panel extensions for Windows XP MCE. Enhancements include the following:

Placing the ATI Setting within the Windows XP MCE main menu
A display resolution slider bar with preset display resolutions of 480p, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p
Adjust picture to fit your desktop display
Ability to force display with current settings for display devices with incomplete or with an inaccurate EDID

Issues Resolved in Catalyst? Software Suite 5.10
The following section provides a summary of the issues that have been resolved in the latest version of Catalyst?. These include:

3Dmark03: Setting the display resolution to 1024x768 32bbp and having Anti-Aliasing set to 6x no longer results in Windows crashing when running 3Dmark03 Mother Nature test
Dungeon Siege 2: The cursor image is now displayed properly when playing the game under Windows XP with an ATI Radeon® X800 series installed
Graphedit: Watching and listening to audio/video using the composite input found on the ATI Radeon® X300/X600 no longer results in the left and right audio being swapped
Max Payne 2: Erratic mouse pointer behavior is no longer noticed within the game's menu after a short time period of game play
Pacific Fighters: Setting the display device to 1024x768 32bpp and enabling Anti-Aliasing to 6x no longer results in display corruption being noticed within the game
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time: Attempting to launch the game under Windows with an ATI Radeon® X800 XL installed no longer results in an error message being displayed
Silent Hunter 3: Enabling all video options within the game and setting the particle density to 100, along with setting Anti-Aliasing to 6X and Anisotropic Filtering to 16x, no longer results in display corruption on the left portion of the display
Stronghold 2: Attempting to launch the game under Windows XP Professional x64 edition no longer results in the game failing to load and the operating system rebooting itself
The German language control panel text no longer appears truncated when using 96 DPI
Overlay Theater Mode no longer fails to be applied on the secondary display device when using extended desktop mode
Catalyst? Control Center: Entering the Adjustments page and deselecting the option to Let the Application Decide no longer results in the Hue value not changing when moving the slider bar
Connecting two display devices to the ATI Radeon® X300/X600 no longer results in the Overlay Theater Mode failing to be applied to the primary display device
Attempting to toggle between the CRT and TV using ALT+F5 shortcut no longer fails
The red/blue components are no longer intermittently swapped when rendering images with OpenGL based Java 2D pipeline
IBM DFP BN68-30012B-06: Connecting the display device to an ATI Radeon® X300/X600 no longer results in display corruption being noticed after the installation of the ATI display driver
The ATI Radeon® X850 Pro is now properly identified in the Display Properties
Attempting to enabling clone mode under Windows XP MCE while watching TV in a windowed mode no longer results in the operating system crashing
Using a PAL version of the Microsoft operating system (XP, or XP MCE) no longer results in the region being switched from PAL to NTSC when clicking the video list found in the tuner tab of the TV function of the ATI MMC
The FM seek function found in the ATI MMC no longer operates the same as the tune function when using an ATI All-in-Wonder X800 (PAL) under the Windows XP MCE operating system

City of Heroes: Playing the game under Windows XP Media Center Edition may results in display corruption being notice when attempting to task-switch between the game and the desktop. Further details can be found in topic number 737-19792
Beyond Good or Evil: Flickering artifacts are noticed on the game characters after approximately 15 minutes of game play. Further details can be found in topic number 737-20795
Dark Age of Camelot: The game exits to the desktop immediately after launching, or may play for up to 15 minutes followed by a VPU Recover error message being displayed. Further details can be found in topic number 737-20794
Medal of Honor Allied Assaults: The game does not launch with Spearhead or Breakthrough expansion packs installed under Windows XP. Further details can be found in topic number. 737-20793
Neverwinter Nights: Installing the 1.66 patch along with Shadows of Undertide and Hordes add-ons result in features of the game being missing when using an ATI Radeon® 9600 SE. Further details can be found in topic number. 737-20792
Catalyst? Control Center: The SmartShader? effect is not removed from the 3D preview when attempting to restore the default values in the Catalyst? Control Center. Further details can be found in topic number 737-20846
The Apply button in the Custom settings of the Advanced mode found under the Catalyst? Control Center Video standard settings is grayed out when playing a media file. Further details can be found in topic number 737-497
Connecting an HDTV to an ATI Radeon® X700 series may result in the HDTV being detected as a CRT or TV under the Windows XP operating system. Further details can be found in topic number 737-20783
Attempting to install the integrated WDM driver under Windows XP may result in an error message being displayed indicating that the hardware is not installed because the install Wizard cannot find the necessary software. Further details can be found in topic number. 737-20784

Hopefully not until after they rewrite the OpenGL drivers. They promised that to us long before dual core chips ever hit the streets.

I'll download it right now and run 3DMark05 and see if the score increases...then i'll actually play BF2 and see if it is any better. :)

Didn't they JUST release 5.9?

I JUST installed them bleh.

I see still no mention of EQ II VPU recovery problem.

Worst ATI driver release ever, at least for me anyway! 3dmark05 drops a whopping 1000 on my rig:-(
It was late & too tired to investigate. Rolled right back to 5.9 and the rig is happy once again:)

Resolved Issues
This section provides information on issues that have been resolved in the latest release of the Catalyst Mobility software suite.

Changing the PowerPlay? mode to either Balanced or Optimal Battery Life no longer results in display corruption and or the operating system failing to respond
Moving the mouse cursor while hotkey switching from TV to LCD no longer results in the inability to move the mouse cursor to right or bottom of display
DVD playback no longer appears to lag when the Catalyst Control Center has been installed on systems containing an ATI Mobility Radeon X700 series
Using either Windows Media Player or PowerDVD to playback a DVD no longer results in slow performance being noticed when using either AC or DC mode
Known Issues
This section provides information on known issues associated with the CATALYST? 5.10 software driver for Windows XP.

The Apply button found throughout the Catalyst Control Center remains active and the confirmation dialog box for certain aspect changes fails to appear. However, user requested changes do take effect. Further details can be found in topic number 737-20558
Enabling the Same on All option found in the Overlay Display in Clone Mode option of the Theater Mode setting in the Catalyst Control Center followed by swapping the displays by dragging and dropping the main display along with the HDTV display may result in the operating system rebooting.
