ATI cards on a Nvidia chipset?

While I wouldn't expect any problems, a friend of mine who is a hardware junkie like myself says he has had problems with ATI cards running on Nvidia chipset mobo's. Anyone ever experience this?

Reason I ask is I have a new EPOX NF3 mobo and am about to buy an ATI X800XL videocard and want to make sure they will work together.

There are a ton of people running ATI cards on NForce Mobo's without issue.

My Radeon actually works better with my Nforce3 250 than my Geforce. Unfortuanly the chipset has pausing issues with the 6800gts and ultras any anything newer than the 66.77 drivers, while my x800xt-pe runs great with the same board.

Seems like a stupid way not to sell motherboards if nV did that. In otherwords your tech buddy is misinformed.
