Am building a new machine with ABIT K47A-133R motherboard. I am not getting any display output whatsoever even at POST with the ATI AWI Radeon 8500/128MB video card. I tried an old Matrox PCI-based card and with that I do receive output. Saw a post on here that someone else was suffering the same problem with a different motherboard (ASUS) altogether. I've contacted ATI. They've suggested I try the board in another machine for which I'm presently calling friends, *sigh*. Haven't seen any other mention of this problem on either the ABIT, ATI, or rage3d web-sites.

One problem with ATI cards and some motherboards is failure of the AGP card to properly seat. When putting thecard in there may be two distinct snaps before the card properly seats.

Try removing the card and replacing it with firm force straight down until you feel thecard seat. I had this problem with a Radeon AIW card and and ABIT mb.

This drove me crazy. The card would work on all other mbs and any other card would work in the ABIT mb.

I did try reseating the card and upon reading your reply thought I'd give it another try. Nada. A tech at ATI opined that the card was DOA. I returned the card and bought a nVIDIA Ti4600 (Leadtek A250 Ultra) and it came up without a hitch the first time.
