<< ATI Technologies at the Microprocessor Forum introduced XILLEON 220, a highly integrated system-on-chip for the digital set-top box and digital TV markets. Integrated into a single chip all processor, graphics, video, audio, and I/O capabilities. Included are a 300 MHz MIPS CPU, dual-HD capable MPEG decoder, audio decoder, display engine, 2D and 3D graphics engine, conditional access, transport demultiplexers (!), and PCI, USB, and hard disk drive interfaces. Only tuners, modems, and memory are required to complete the design for many consumer devices. >>



So, this is what they've been working on...A High tech cable box!

EDIT: good point Mike, but it still seems odd ball to see ATI's name on a Badarse sounding cable box. 😉

Sounds like a little more then a simple cable box. ATI isn't just in computer graphics, they do other things to

I'd rather that they had announced a new set of drivers for the 8500 which enables it to beat the Ti500 in every benchmark.

Same here , kinda erks me, but not as much as Dell saying now my est date is the 29th....Maybe those "wished for super drivers will be out" :frown:
