Ati and aspect scaling

Ok, I just switched from a nvidia card to a radeon card recently. The first thing I've noticed is that aspect scaling doesn't seem to work regardless of the settings in dvi. I've tried several different settings that are related to scaling, but they don't do anything. Is there something I've missed?

Dude this is so true. I switched from ATI to nvidia like 2 weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. The scaling for ATI is dependant on your LCD. Not as much with Nvidia drivers.

I used to be able to do 1400x1050 on my widescreen but anything lower than that got stretched even if I set it to aspect scaling.

I will not miss that ati 'feature'

DOH!!! Dammit, I hate these little things that always pop-up when I switch hardware. For that matter, why does the catalyst installation install steam at all??

You had a chance to opt out. I think you get some games free for having ATI hardware.
