ATI All-In-Wonder X800 XT - "no tuner found" in MCE

My understanding:

Microsoft no longer supports ATI's Theater 200 chips as viable TV Tuners within the MCE front-end. At one point they did, but for some reason they don't anymore. Supposedly the new ATI drivers (since about 5.8 or something) allow this to happen - regardless of Microsoft's approval, but I still can't get it to work.

The tuner works just fine within ATI's own MMC software, but my goal is to keep extra programs from having to run... and MMC sucks compared to MCE overall. Has anyone else on this forum been able to operate their AIW TV Tuner within the MCE front-end? If so, how did you do it?

Which version of AIW are you using?

You Need:

• to have an AIW based off of a 9xxx or newer

• you need the 5.8 series drivers or newer

Use ATi's driver un-installer to completely remove any old drivers first, then install the newest ati drivers.

I'm going to uninstall everything tonight and redo the steps, but I am using an X800 XT (which is higher than a 9xxx) and I'm using the latest and greatest driver. I just have a hunch that it will never work...

The last time I uninstalled my videocard to get this to work, the drivers for my Audigy got royally effed up and I had to do a fresh XP install to get any sound to come out again. I'm a bit timid to do it again, but I will do what I must.
