So that you can watch other channels that that you are subscribing. As for your problem, I am sure its just some kind of channel on your VCR or connection issues.. Generally, output should go input of the VCR. If you can, try using a TV and if you see the output on the TV, then VCR should not be a problem at all.

Change your topic/title. Illegal software inquiries aren't allowed. Software descramblers exist but using them cheats everyone

(and don't bother PMing me about it. I'm not going to reply)

This post is not for tallest1, so don't bother replying...

I have looked for the same thing as well. I do not think that it exists. I pay for HBO and would like to use my computer as a PVR type thing but I always forget to put my cable box on the correct channel and I end up recording whatever is on the channel that is on instead of what I wanted to record...

I think that this would fall under the same thing as owning your own cable desrambler. It is legal but you need to notify the cable company so that they can bill you appropriately.

LOL, between this post and the Powerstrip serial number post I don't know what the hell's happening to people's sense of discretion.

dude, it's not illegal... if you pay for it. For example. I have a digital box connected to my entertainment system and PAY of a load of scrambled channels that the digital box decodes. This package entitles me to three other connections in my house with ALL those channels. Since I PAY for the analog scrambled channels I can legally descramble those at three other connections in my house, but for the digital channels I need another digital box. Which means that if I get a descrambler I can legally pick up those channels. and a descrambler for the ATI would make sense since I would be able to use it with the Guide+

Having said that.... I have tested about 20 so called software descramblers that were supposed to work with the ATI and for the most part they don't really work well.

It comes down to this, if you pay for the scrambled channels that you want to view, then anyway you decoded them is legal.

Everything I have seen or heard = no software to do that in ms os.

But there is something that works in linux for ati tv. (easy to find, just try searching on google or something)

Which kinda makes you wonder why there isn't a software for ms os, but that being more "scrutinezed" OS (legally speaking) it kinda makes sense.
