ATI All-in-Wonder and satellite

I'm building a media server and considering the ATI All-in-wonder card. Actually, I will almost certainly go with this card but have a question about system setup.

I have a Dish Network satellite system, how will the all-in-wonder card integrate with this? In other words, will I be able to switch channels on the satellite with the ATI card? Also, will the Guide+ information be useless with this setup?

thanks

I am running this setup right now....I run the svideo cable from my pvr 501 in the family room....I set tv tuner to channel 3 as I am effectively running video in...I can change channels by using the remote of the pvr 501 cause it is rfi. I can't use my ati remote.

Will you have a box dedicated for the room?? Is the computer in same room?? If so you can change with the controller but still feed through channel 3 and use the svideo...

yeah, it's a dedicated server in the same room.

the thing is that I'm looking to eliminate my pvr (tivo) and dvd player by running everything through the media server.

Also, it sounds like I won't be able to record to the hard disc using the scheduler as the guide display may not represent what's on the satellite?
