The ATI AIW has horrible win2k support. I recently bought one, and have had problems ever since.

Config: BP6 2xCeleron466(not OC'ed) 512G ram Geforce 2 MX AGP ATI all-in-wonder PCI smc 10/100 nick sblive

The thing hangs very odd, it seems like there is an ACPI problem, it will total freeze my keyboard and mouse but my lotus domino server still serves up web pages! I had to try just about every PCI slot configuration because of IRQ conflicts and the hangs associated. I finaly have a sort of stable config, but i'm afraid to use any of the VIVO functions because of the rampent hangs when using them. I've found that running the Open GL screensaver helps keep the box up while i'm away as it must disable the VIVO/TV features. This card also gets very hot, to solve the problem i have a big fan blowing directly on the card to keep it cool. it does not like 75Mhz system bus speeds at all either. All in all I like the features of this card but the stability under win2k sucks. If anyone has any tips for stability, please let me know!

Also for those of you who use W2K Terminal services, you must disable them to get the card's tuner to work. There is apperently an issue with WDM audio redirection.

I'm not familiar with the PCI version, but Win2k + ACPI + AIW Radeon AGP is stable as a rock in my rig. Your saying that its running hot may be an indicator of a problem, Radeon cards run very cool normally, the fan has been refered to me as being unnecissary and more for looks actually(maybe not if you overclock), the le doesn't even have a fan and its basically the same core as the DDR Radeon.

Old driver references are trouble, did you do a clean install?
The Radeon is ACPI compliant, but what about the rest of your rig? and how do you get IRQ conflicts with ACPI enabled?
The graphics GPU and the Rage Theater are seperate, OpenGL doesn't disable the Rage Theater, they are handled independantly.
What driver set are you using? MMC? DVD Decoder?
Isn't the PCI bus speed 33mhz? Why would it care what the system bus speed is?

no i didn't clean the registry, but i think i did a clean install. The radeon chip doesn't seem to get hot, but some of the other chips on the board do, along with a couple capacitors which get real hot (this is solved with the fan).

By IRQ conflicts, ACPI does have some IRQ sharing. it seems that when i use alot of things in paralell, i get a hang.

eg. CDRW read(hpt366 ata66 controller), sound (SBlive), and radeon.

right now i'm using the beta drivers from the ATI site, and MMC 7.1

Try installing the ATI DVD 4.1 player even if you don't have a DVD drive. It clears up issues with video capture for some folks, and it'll install the codecs you need to view mpeg-2 files.

While its certainly possible, I have a bit of hardware in my rig as well, and don't have problems with the way the ACPI
Hal handles my devices and IRQ's at all, thats the reason for having it, especially if you have alot of hardware. I would think that would be a last resort.

What was your last video card, and other than the radeon, is all else the same?
