Does this come with the same accessories as the AIW 9800 pro? I bought a refurb 9800 from newegg and it came with nothing so I'd like buy this strip the accessories and sell the bare card. It would be much cheaper than tring to buy all the accessories. Mainly I need to know if the BOB is the same connector.

Yes. BTW, I think all AIW 8500 are 64MB version, so I didn't put that in the title. :)

different accessories from the 9800 card.
This a still an excellent card for anything but the modern games. I still use mine every day and would only trade it for a new AIW. I'm hooked on the AIW capabilities.

bought the 8500 aiw 64 a couple of years back from newegg - back when their refurbs actually included extras. mine came in the original box with all components and the remote. as it was previously said, unless you are playing latest games, this is fine. i use mine to transfer from camcorder or vcr, and it is great. at 80 clams, might pick one up for wifey to play with

OUCH... I remember paying $350 for my 8500 AIW 3 years ago... I guess that why its $80, there are 2 models. the 8500 AIW and the 8500 AIW LE or SE I believe but the regular comes with 128mb and the other comes with 64. FANTASTIC CARD. I've had no problems with drivers, and the MMC is great.

I have always wondered if newegg refurb AIW same with anything. I worried that they didn?t, so I never took the risk. What good is an AIW without the ability to connect stuff?

No the firewire one was the DV, which was 128Mb, the AiW is 64Mb like the original

The 64Mb models have the faster Hynix RAM.

I bought the original 8500 64Mb fro CompGeeks a few months back - a steel for $50, plays UT2003 fine.

In the Fry's ad, they said this was not the retail one, so won't have the cables/breakout box (and probably not the DVD player software that you can't download). So not that hot for $80....

thats right I remember now. The DV did have the firewire. It was the one with 64mb of ram. I know this cause I have the 128mb version and it doesn't have firewire.

No, the 8500dv is a downclocked 64MB card with firewire. The AIW8500 is a 128 MB card clocked at 275/275 just like the retail 8500 card.
