I'll be replacing my ATI AIW 9800 Pro w/ the ATI AIW X800XT. Can I just plug-n-play or should I install the latest drivers on ATI's site? I know in order for my 9800 pro to work properly I had to install Catalyst 6.1 and multimedia 9.08. I talked to a tech at ATI and he was really no help. What driver version have been found to work with this card? My OS is XP pro. MOB is ASUS A8V-Deluxe.
Thanks

If you just follow the wizard on Ati's site it will give you the latest version that works with the AIW version. Usually any of the Catalyst drivers will work fine, in which case you should run 6.8. There's really no reason not to uypdate unless you need an older version for some specific reason.

Good luck getting the AIW features to work with updated drivers. I tried to use Cat 6.6 (the AIW version) and I lost my AIW goodies. I realized after some reading that you have to instal a bunch of stuff in sequence for it to work. So I uninstalled and reinstalled the way it said. To no avail :( So I went back to the drivers on the disc and now I can use TV, but my remote doesn't work still :(

The remote is the trickiest part, I usually had some success if I went to the device manager, uninstalled the remote there, then restarted with the reciever unplugged. Plug it back in once Windows is booted and it should pop up and ask for drivers if you uninstalled it right.
