I recently built a new computer using the Asus A8N-SLI mobo and an ATI All-In-Wonder X600 Pro video card. I am using the FX-55 CPU and Windows XP Pro with two WD Raptors in Raid 0. A frind of mine has built a similar PC and is having the same problem as I am. I am using the latest approved Asus bios rev. 1011, the latest Nvdia chipset drivers and the latest ATI software.

The problem is that when I am viewing television on my PC, the audio suddenly stops and then the image freezes and locks up the PC. The only way to reset is to manually shut off the PC.

Any ideas. I've been unsuccessful in reaching ATI by phone. I tried their e-mail recommended fix without success. HELP!!!!

:disgust:I tried the suggestion in thge microsoft article but still have the same problem. I think the problem is with the ATI card and/or software. Very little support available from ATI. They really suck and I strongly advise anyone considering their cards to look elsewhere.

If the PC freezes hard, then chances are the card hangs the PCI bus. What other cards and onboard chips are on the same bus?

Well guys I have built hundreds of PC's and have recently put one together with an Athalon 64X2 4400, ATI AIW x600pro, Asus A8N-SLI-Premium and have experienced the same problem. I just wanted the MOBO because i thought for an extra 15 bucks it would be good to have the SLI feature in the future. The A8N-SLI has performed flawlessly so far. The X600PRO on the other hand locks up when ever you play the TV and with the latest drivers ATI made me use now even the 3D craps out moving textures around in Far Cry like a disturbing Marilin Manson video. ATI not only doesn't have a fix but didn't even want to give me an RMA I tried everything they told me to do even though the first three felt like an automated fortune cookie answere. I have purchased 2 of their previouse all in wonders with not to much hassle. Usually their drivers crash every now and then, but this one sucks big time. No more ATI All-In-Wonders for me i'm going to haupauge or something like it. you should see my card on ebay soon so please buy it. :)
