How satisfied are you with your All in Wonder card? I was looking at getting a TV around Christmas, and upgrading my video card, but I was thinking about just using my 19" Sony monitor as a TV instead. How happy have you all been with your AIW cards? The new radeon 9700 runs at the same speed as the stock 9700 and I will have $300 in credit when I take my defective Ti500 back for it. Any pluses minuses to having it? It doesnt have firewire, but I have a port on my audigy. The only thing I was worried about was hooking up video games to my monitor and having more cables going into the back of my case.

Has anyone played N64 on a computer monitor?

Thanks!

i play my GC on my AIW ATi does that count? i hear sound only from the left side, but that could be a result of a bad RCA cable...which i think it is....either way, im satisfied with it...im using a 17" monitor

Are you using an internal cable from your AIW to your soundcard? If so that might be bad. I had that problem and after I replaced that cable it worked fine. Another work around is (if you have the original AIW Radeon) use the TV out cable and it has a stereo jack on it. Plug that into your Line-In and when setting up the TV, select the Line-In for your audio input.

I've been extremely happy with my AIW Radeon card. I plan on upgrading to the AIW Radeon 9700 Pro when it comes out and the price drops to around $200 - $250. I still use my current one to play XBox and record TV shows. It was a great investment for me because I could get rid of the TV in my room.

Thanks for the great info....what does the TV quality look like? Does it actually look better on a monitor? I have a G400 flatscreen sony 19". The other thing I was wondering about is interference from running the cable for cable TV to the back of my case....would all of the computer parts running screw stuff up?

i'm using the ati aiw radeon, the original no 7500 or anything
either way tv is more than good enough for me... runnig cable and also works w/antenna
i play playstation on my monitor, that way i have more room in my crummy dorm room
and technically looks as good as a tv, but i'm on an lcd which doesn't have the greatest view angles unless you're right in front of it...
yeah it's a good tv tuner once you get passed updating drivers
you can also use your computer like a tivo and record tv shows when you're not there which i find cool, so i have gaming machine, tv, vcr, dvd, and occasional study companion all-in-one...
unless you buy a separate tv tuner card which could do the same... like you could tv tuner and different video card
the purple breakout box works fine and there is a little black cable from the video to sound card
and i'm not having any problems with sound coming only from one side or anything like that

I have the Radeon 8500DV AIW and love it. Has 2 firewire ports for my DV cam, excellent tv tuner and Guideplus software, sweet RF remote, plays latest games with no problem. The breakout box should take care of stray wires going to the back of your case.
