ATI AiW Radeon - software question

I have an ATI AiW Radeon 32MB DDR. it has the tv-in, out and tuner, etc.... I have the all the correct drivers installed on my comp, and I used to have their Multimedia Center (MMC) installed as well. I was wondering if it would be possible to still watch use the TV tuner and other features of the card without having ATI's MMC installed. I would still have all the proper drivers installed, I just hate the look of the MMC and I always ran into glitches with it. So I guess I'm looking for a program that would let me watch TV at least, and if possible, record live TV, have a TV-guide program (i think ATI's is called GuidePlus), etc...

and it would be nice if said program were free, but I'm willing to buy something as well...

wow, you hate the look of MMC so much you'll pay for other programs that offers basically same, or possibly less, features?

sorry, but i don't know any program that you seek, but my suggestion is to maybe change the 'theme' of MMC or just watch TV and not the ugly looks of MMC. 🙂

Hmmmm, yeah..... I'm not sure what you're saying about the "look" of it. I never really see it. But if you do see it you can always change skins to make it look different.

i guess I'm just looking for something that is just a TV and program guide. I dont need the dvd player or avi player, whatever else is included because i use PowerDVD and WMP, etc....

Can you recommend any good sites to download skins for the MMC? Ill do some searching right now...i always thought the skins that came with it sucked.

you know what? i cant read...I kept thinking i couldnt download the newest MMCs for the past year because it said people with older All IN Wonders would have to purchase a new install cd. But i didnt see that that was only for the DVD Decoder...not for the rest of the MMC. One of the reasons i wanted to use a diff TV program was because i thought i was stuck with an older program.

FWIW, hitting F3 makes the window border around the TV disappear with my rage-128 AiW. so its just desktop/active window and TV image

Yea I was able to do this with Virtualdub.

The Power of Google! 😀 N/m, sorry. I alway's wanted a TV Tuner, if you had the choice to get another one again, would you? Is it worth it?
