ATI AIW 9800 vs AIW 9700

what are the major differences is it worth the extra money, i really dont do much gaming i want to use its PVR features with MPeg2 encoding so i can record shows to DVD i may play some games but not many

AIW 9800pro is faster in games.

In your case, get the AIW 9700

heck if you dont play much games, you can get a AIW 8500 for alot less

True, but the 9700 and 9800 AIW have special features that the rest don't. I don't remember off the top of my head, but I remember them having some new ones, and ones that aren't new, but updated.

the AIW 9700 and 9800 have the new Rage Theatre 200 chip which gives much better improved audio and video quality than the Radeon 8500 and the 7500. The AIW 9000 use the RT200 chip too so u might be better off with that.

yeah Im still amazed at my card 400.00 7 months ago...the only dissapointment is not having the dualhead..............

well if there were no real enhancements over the 9700 i might as well get that and call it a day
